The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has enhanced the operational capacity of the Zamfara Police command through the deployment of additional manpower and operational vehicles for Saturday’s polls.
The logistics included: Non-letha; weapons, personnel protective equipment and anti-riot equipment ahead of March 18 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.
A statement issued in Gusau by the spokesperson of the command, Muhammad Shehu quoted the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kolo Yusuf, as disclosing the development.
Yusuf, while commending the IG for his timely intervention to the command, called on the officers and men to redouble their efforts.
Yusuf also tasked Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, all officers and men deployed for election security duty to be neutral.
