Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says Nigeria will eventually overcome its security and socio-economic challenges as the Spirit of God is in the land.

Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement in Abuja, said he spoke at the send-forth service for Reverend Israel Akanji on Sunday. Akanji served as Senior Pastor and Minister in Charge of the First Baptist Church, Garki, Abuja and he is now the new President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention.

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Reverend Olasupo Ayokunle, and the Minister of State for Health Olorunimbe Mamora, among other dignitaries and Christian leaders also attended the service.

The Vice President, while citing the first chapter in the Biblical Book of Genesis, related events surrounding the creation of the heaven and earth to the nation’s present challenges and the lives of great individuals.
