The Lagos State Government has shut down all Chrisland Schools in the state amid public outrage over the rape of a 10 year-old girl by mates, while on a trip to Dubai, the United Emirates.

The shutdown notice was contained in a press statement on Monday.
The 10-year-old pupil was involved in sexual activity with another male
pupil during a trip to Dubai, which was organised by the school to take
part in an international competition.

Pupils from the elite private school located in Victoria Garden City had
embarked on the trip to Dubai to participate in the World School Games
between March 10 and 13, 2022 when the incident happened.

Following the incident which trended on Social Media, the school
authorities suspended the pupil indefinitely , stating that she was a major
actor in an immoral act.

But the mother of the pupil claimed that her daughter was drugged and
raped by some male students of the school.

Meanwhile, the Police said their investigation will establish the
identities of the players in the video, the true incident in the video, the
geographical location of the incident and circumstances surrounding the
alleged repeated pregnancy tests conducted on the student without
parental consent.

The government also warned those in possession or circulating the sex
tape to desist from such acts or be ready to spend 14 years in jail as
prescribed by the law.
