Accreditation and voting has commenced on time at various polling units in Kurmin Mashi and Badiko areas in Kaduna South Local Government as residents return to the poll for Governorship and State House Assembly elections.

The voting started at Polling Unit 001, Sarki Avenue at 003 Mashi Road and 005 Government College within the area.

The Electoral Officer of 003 Mashi Road, Gideon Ekeh, who said his team arrived at the unit at 7.30 a.m., attributed the early commencement of voting to the early release of election materials.

Ekeh said that the Card Reader in his unit was perfect, as the electorate queue for accreditation and voting. Similarly, voting commenced at Sarki Avenue in Kurmin Mashi 001 Polling Unit and LEA Primary School.

Some residents seen at the polling units said they had already voted at 8.40 a.m. and were going back to their homes.

A retired police officer, Laraba Ankwa, a security guard Peter Antep, and Auwal Musa, a motorcycle operator, said they voted on time at their polling units.
