The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kaduna State Abdullahi Adamu Kaugama has stated that the commission will cancel votes of any polling unit that refused to use the card reader.
He also said the commission has not received any letter from the 38 gubernatorial candidates that signified their intention to step down for any Candidate in the gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly polls.
Liberty News Correspondent Muhammed Idris reports that Kaugama made this known while addressing the newsmen in Kaduna at INEC office.
The Commissioner said all the voting materials have been delivered successful to the 23 local government areas of the state. He added that 34,000 ad-hoc staff have been engaged for the exercise and 10,000 out the total number are Corps members.
He said any voting without the use of card reader in any polling unit will be cancelled. He also assured that there are technicians to address any faulty card reader on the field. He said 90 percent of returning officers who are mostly professors to handle the exercise were from Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaria.
