The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has approved the payment of 75 thousand as a new minimum wage to civil servants in the state.
This was contained in a press statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor.
According to the statement, the decision followed a careful review of the current economic situation in the country especially as it affects the workforce, adding that the new minimum wage will improve the financial well-being of the workers, as the increase will help cope with rising living costs and provide better opportunities for the workers.
The implementation of the new minimum wage takes effect from Monday, October 28th, 2024.
