Nigeria’s Service Chief at a close-door session told the House of Representatives Committee on Defence that there was an international dimension to the insurgency and other security challenges confronting Nigeria. The committee’s chairman, Babajimi Benson who briefed newsmen after the session said the service chiefs raised a lot of issues, which one of them is that there is probably an international dimension to what is happening. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, said the service chiefs and the National Assembly had agreed to work together towards ending insecurity. Also the National Assembly is the need to meet and discuss these issues which was the reason the service chiefs were invited on the security situation in the country, and of course the way forward.
