Coach Gernot Rohr is expected to announce Super Eagles team that will play Central African Republic in the World Cup qualifiers soon.

He is however facing selection decision ahead of the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic and it has to do with Samuel Chukwueze.

The Eagles Coach will be happy with news that Chukwueze resumed full training at Villarreal this week.

Chukwueze’s lack of match fitness is said to be giving the gaffer a lot of concern, falling the forward’s inability to play a match since May this year.

It learnt that Chukwueze is one of the first names on Rohr’s roster but his lack of match fitness changes that situation as he is unlikely to be in tip-top condition heading into the World Cup qualifiers. He had not played competitively since after suffering an injury in the second leg of the Europa League semifinal clash against Arsenal in May.

In similar vein, Nigeria’s senior national women basketball team, D’Tigress, on Sunday won the 2021 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship by defeating Mali 70-59 in Yaounde. The victory makes it the third consecutive one for them, having won the championship the 2017 and 2019 editions.
