Reports say nine people have died in a suicide bombing in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu and many civilians and members of the security forces injured.

A Police Officer Mohamed Ali was quoted as saying there are still probes going on but with all indications so far, a suicide bomber caused the blast, adding that members of the security forces and some civilians were killed and 11 other injured.

Another police officer in Mogadishu, Dadir Hassan, explained that the death toll stood at 11, adding that the bomber targeted a busy tea shop near a main military base in Mogadishu.

He however, explained that the preliminary examinations confirmed that the attack was a result of lone suicide bomber who blew himself at a teashop where security forces and civilians frequented.

Meanwhile, Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has condemned the indiscriminate attack. He added that the barbaric act shows how al-Shabab terrorists are thirsty for the indiscriminate bloodshed of the Somali people, forcing us to cooperate in fighting terrorism.
