President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Minna International Airport, now renamed as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna. Alongside this, he unveiled the agro-processing zone and agricultural equipment.
The airport, which was first commissioned by former military Head of State Ibrahim Babangida on June 20, 1990, received its new name from Governor Umar Bago of Niger last Friday.
The refurbished airport was formerly closed due to runway issues, but it now boasts a fully equipped domestic terminal.
The agro-processing zone project will cover 2,000 hectares: 1,000 for drip irrigation and greenhouses, and another 1,000 for dairy product processing.
As part of the event, Tinubu is scheduled to hold discussions with former heads of state Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
