Wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, said the implementation of the federal government’s Social Investment Programmes, SIP failed in the North.
Speaking during an interactive program for women at the State House, Abuja, Mrs Buhari lamented the inability of women in the North to benefit from the program.
This came three days after the Presidential Adviser on Social Investment, Maryam Uwais, said 470.8 billion naira was released by the Federal Government for the programme.
The SIPs are; the N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfers, National Home-Grown School Feeding and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programmes, GEEP.
Uwais said annually the federal government budgets 500 billion naira for social investment but that in 2016, 79.98 billion naira was released, 2017, 140 billion naira and in 2018, 250.4 billion naira was released.
