The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service has sealed the premises of 13 companies in the state capital over unpaid land-based revenue amounting to N1.5 billion.
Among the affected companies included five commercial banks, a hotel, filling stations and an eatery.
Speaking to newsmen, the legal adviser of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Aisha Garba, who led the enforcement team, said the sealing of the companies was in line with the powers vested in the service by Section 104 of the personal Income Tax Act and Section 24, sub- Sections of the Kaduna State Tax Codification and Consolidation Law, 2020 as amended.
She also explained that the Revenue Service secured a court order for the immediate closure and takeover of all the affected properties until the unpaid land-based revenue liabilities were fully settled.
