The Kaduna State Chapter of People’s Democratic Party, PDP has expressed displeasure with over the conduct of the last local government elections that took place on September 4 in 19 local government Areas by Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission, KADSIECOM.
It would be recalled that elections in four Local Government Areas, which include; Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Kajuru and Zangon-Kataf were postponed to September 25 by KADSIECOM over security challenges.
Kaduna PDP Chairman Felix Hassan Hyet, while speaking to newsmen alleged that the state’s electoral body is not independent and has been hijacked by the ruling All Progressives congress, APC.
He also added that with the postponement of the election of four local government areas there was a foul play. Hyet, however advised KADSIECOM to allow free and fair election come Saturday September 25.
The Party Chairman also noted that the only way the commission can redeem its image is to ensure those that violates rule of conducting election or absconded with the ballots box or machines are be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others so that people will believed in the system of election in Kaduna state and Nigeria.
