The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has expressed readiness for tomorrow’s election which will throw up twenty nine new governors and nine hundred and ninety one members of the thirty six state Houses of Assembly in the country.
INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu who said this in Abuja at a meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Security held in Abuja also pledged the commission’s readiness to partner with security agencies for the prosecution of electoral offenders.
He assured that the commission learning from the experience of the presidential and National Assembly elections two weeks ago, has effectively tackled the challenge of logistics.
Yakubu said that all materials and relevant personnel will arrive at the Registration Area Centres by 8.00am nationwide.
He also assured Nigerians that the Commission will work closely with the Police to ensure the prosecution of all violators of electoral laws.
