Banyana Banyana defender Lebohang Ramalepe doesn’t see Friday’s Women’s Olympic Qualifying CAF tie against the Super Falcons on the knife’s edge for either side over the need to secure a ticket to the sports fiesta.
Speaking ahead of the first legged fixture at Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, the veteran, who plies her trade with SAFA Women’s League club Mamelodi Sundowns, said it was virtually impossible for them to achieve a good result in Abuja and make the most of their home advantage in the return leg on April 9 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
Following a week of intense preparations in Pretoria, South Africa, Bayana coach Desire Ellis, with 17 players, arrived in Abuja on Sunday and had their first training in the country the following day.
The winner of this tie will join Brazil, Japan, and Spain in Group C of the Women’s Football Tournament of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in July and August as one of Africa’s two representatives.
