The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer in Osun state, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, on Monday said 12,082 votes were cancelled due to over-voting in Saturday’s presidential election in the state.
Ogundipe, who is also the Vice -Chancellor, University of Lagos, announced this while giving a breakdown of election results for 13 Local Government Areas of the state at the INEC National Collation Centre in Abuja.
The Osun state collation officer said that 1,674,729 voters were registered; 732,984 were accredited; 731,882 votes were cast out of which 714,682 were valid votes in the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.
He mentioned that the All Progressives Congress APC scored 347,634 votes.
Ogundipe also said the Peoples Democratic Party PDP had 337,377 votes in the state.
