The People’s Democratic Party in Ogun State on Saturday expressed concerns over the distribution of two result sheets instead of one to polling units as well as the late movement of election materials for the local government election.
The party also questioned the credibility of the election due to the late distribution of materials.
The opposition also requested an extension of voting time, which was originally scheduled to end by 2pm.
Newsmen revealed at the time of filing this report said election officials were still collecting materials from the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission office in Abeokuta, the state capital at 7:32 am, just minutes before the scheduled 8am starting time.
Speaking with journalists, the PDP state agent, Waliu Oladipupo, expressed worries about the development, emphasising that this irregularity could undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
