KDSG Discharges Fifth Covid-19 Patient, Confirms Three New Cases

The Kaduna State Ministry of Health has announced the discharge of one more Covid-19 case. This brings to five the number of patients discharged since 14 April.

It also confirmed that there are three new cases of Covid-19 in the state. They are: A 23-year old male who came into the state from Istanbul through Dubai sometime in March; A 51-year old male who was tested in Samaru, Sabon-Gari LGA, after coming in from Kano; also 42-year old male from Unguwan Geza, Kaduna, who had also traveled to Kano.

The Ministry explained that the new cases reflect the dangers that inter-state travel poses to efforts to contain Covid-19, adding that such travel spreads the virus from place to place, complicates contact tracing and risks implanting the virus in communities.

Residents are urged to avoid interstate travel and to promptly report to the authorities any person who has recently travelled from an affected state and develops symptoms of cough, fever or sore throat.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to social distancing of the personal hygiene and the avoidance of large gathering.
