The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu is hosting the International Police, INTERPOL week, for the first time in Nigeria.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba who announced this in a statement in Abuja, said the event with the theme, “A Safer World” would hold between August 23rd to 29th.
Mba said that the week-long event would be attended by the National Central Bureau Focal officers from over one hundred and ninety INTERPOL member countries and world security experts.
According to him, others expected at the event are security and safety agencies in Nigeria including the NDLEA, EFCC, NIS, NCS, NAPTIP and NAFDAC. He said that the event was targeted at fine tuning the existing working partnerships amongst security organisations within and outside Nigeria.
The Police Spokesman explained that the idea is to enhance the competence and capacities of the participants toward addressing the challenges of policing in the 21st century.
