The Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin has called on communities to support the ongoing military operations in the North-West targeted at clearing the zone of bandits and other criminals.

He made the appeal in Katsina at the inauguration of some community projects undertaken by the Defence Headquarters in some local government areas of Katsina State.

Olonisakin who was represented by the acting General Officer Commanding, 8 Division, Sokoto, Brigadier General Aminu Bande said the projects were executed to support the basic infrastructure and welfare needs of the communities.

The projects included boreholes drilled at Rahamawa, Tudun-matawalle and Tudun-natsinta, all in Katsina local government area.

The Defence Chief also laid the foundation for the construction of a dispensary at Makasauro, Daura Local Government Area, and boreholes at Mazoji and Gabasawa, also in Daura, as well as another in Danja Local Government Area.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed delight and pledged to continue supporting the ongoing military operations in the state with a view to ending banditry and other forms of criminalities.
