Incessant Attacks: Gunmen Kill Four Plateau Mining Workers

Report says unknown gunmen have killed four persons at a mining site in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A community leader Emmanuel Dong, who confirmed the attack, said the incident happened around at 6:00pm.

Plateau State Police Command Spokesman Gabriel Ubah, who also confirmed the development, said personnel have been deployed to the area and calm has returned to the area.

Also, a member representing Jos South/Jos East in the National Assembly, Dachung Musa Bagos described the killing as one death, too many.

He also sympathised with the families of Lo-Bwong of Lo-Tang, in Hwolshe, Jos South Local Government Area over the inhumane and cold blooded killing of members of their family by callous and bloodthirsty bandits.

Bagos’ Media Adviser Danja Dafwam Yaks in a statement said the recent massacre which resulted in the death of three of his constituents, one other person and a woman recuperating in the hospital occurred at Dong Village.

The lawmaker however frowned at the easy means where small arms and light weapons find their ways indiscriminately into the country and moved around the country without traces. He also called on the Federal and state governments to urge the security agencies to take more seriously the insecurity around the state and the country at large.
