The Kaduna State chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN has faulted the Federal Government of supporting killings in Southern Kaduna.

The Christian body in a statement alleged that the statement issued by a spokesman for President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu was meant to twist facts about the criminal activities of suspected herdsmen in Southern Kaduna. It would be recalled that in a statement released by Shehu, the Presidency attributed Kaduna killings to criminal gangs acting on ethnic, religious grounds.

But the CAN Chairman Reverend Joseph John Hayab, in his response contained in a statement, condemned the Presidency’s reaction on the killings.

He added that Shehu Garba had misinformed the Nigerians and the international community that Southern Kaduna enjoys comprehensive security deployments. However, the Kaduna State Police Command said it had arrested 217 suspected kidnappers, bandits, robbers, and cattle rustlers, among others
