Reports say three people have been killed, 13 kidnapped while five sustained gun wounds when bandits attacked an illegal gold processing site located at Bakin Korama of Magama village in Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Chairman of the Magama Gold dealers, while confirming the incident said the bandits numbering 60 came in the night around 10pm and sets their tents ablaze, killed three persons, injuring 10 and abducted 13 people from the settlement.
Another dealer Sani Muhammad also explained that out of the three persons killed by the bandits, two are from Jibiya, while the third person could not be identified as no means of identification was found on him.
In a similar incident, some bandits have killed three youths in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the youths were going to Tyaana village in Riyom when the bandits attacked and killed three persons on the spot while many others sustained injuries. A youth leader in the area and the National President of the Berom Youth Moulders, Solomon Mwantiri confirmed the killings, which he said occurred on Monday night.
