The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has described as baseless the allegations that it diverted 6.25 billion naira approved by President Muhammadu Buhari as palliatives for the poor in the region.

The COVID-19 Palliatives Committee Chairman, Sobomabo Jackrich had sent a petition to the National Assembly accusing the Keme Pondei-led Interim Management Committee, IMC of diverting the money.

But the NDDC Director, Corporate Affairs, Charles Odili, in a statement dismissed the claims of Jackrich, saying his committee later became redundant because of new realities that emerged in the Niger-Delta states.

Odili, while describing the claims of Jackrich as false said it was coordinated by the same forces waging a campaign of tale against the commission and its management since President Buhari ordered a forensic audit of the operations of the NDDC.
