Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed concern over the contrasting behaviour of citizens when they are in the diaspora compared to when they are within the country.
His Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, made this known in a statement issued after a reception held at New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA on Thursday.
The statement added the Obasanjo, asserted that while Nigerians tend to relate as friends and display unity abroad, they often exhibit enmity and discord once they return to their homeland.
The former President, who acknowledged the remarkable achievements of Nigerians in various fields while residing abroad, emphasized their role in bringing pride to the nation.
Obasanjo also called on diaspora Nigerians to replicate this sense of togetherness upon their return home.
