Former Super Falcons Coach, Godwin Izilien has advised the the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to stop searching for a foreign Coach for the Senior Women National Team.
Izilien is optimistic that employing a home-grown Coach for the Team would reduce the financial burden on the federation, particularly now that coronavirus has affected the economy.
The Former Coach questioned why the federation would be going for a foreign trainer when local instructors had been successful with the Falcons in different competitions over the years. He also stressed that the delay in appointing a manager for the team would affect the progress and building process of the team.
In another vain, the Federation has said that the 2019-2020 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFLseason has not been canceled. It added that wide consultation is still ongoing as to the format and pattern of foreclosing the 2019/2020 football season, including that of the Professional League.
NFF General SecretaryMohammed Sanusi, while reacting to reports that some club owners had voted to end the season using the Points Per Game principle to determine flag bearers in next year’s continental club competitions, said everyone should wait until after the consultations.
