The Plateau Police Command has deployed over two thousand personnel across the state ahead of Eid-el-Fitr to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Terna Tyopev who stated this in Jos, said the deployment of the personnel is to ensure crime detection and prevention during the period.
He added that the command had placed a ban on the sale and use of fireworks, knockouts, bangers and other explosives during the period. The spokesman also announced that the command had banned the operation of commercial tricycles within Jos and Bukuru metropolis during the period, adding that violators would be made to face the wrath of the law.
In another development, the Osun state government has announced that it would provide free train service from Lagos to Osogbo for its indigenes willing to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr in the state.
The Supervisory Director for Ministry of Finance, and Commerce, Industries and Cooperatives, Bola Oyebamiji announced this in a statement in Osogbo.
