Nigeria recorded 148 new cases and 5 deaths were confirmed in bringing the total cases recorded in the country to 2,950.
The spread of novel Corona Virus Disease in Nigeria has continued to record rapid increase as the latest statistics provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC showed that there are 2,950 confirmed cases.
The 148 new cases are reported from 17 states- Lagos (43), Kano (32), Katsina (9), FCT (10), Zamfara (14), Taraba (7), Borno (7), Ogun (6), Oyo (5), Bauchi (3), Edo (3), Kaduna (3), Adamawa (2), Gombe (2), Plateau (1), Sokoto (1), Kebbi (1)
In a move to combat the spread of the pandemic, President Muhammadu Buhari directed the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for a period of 14 days, which took effect from 11 pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. The restriction, which was extended by another two-weeks period, has been partially put on hold with some businesses commencing operations.
