The Kaduna State Government has challenged youths to distance themselves from those fanning the embers of violence and war in the country.
State’s Acting Governor Hadiza Balarabe made the call during the closing ceremony of the Batch-B, Stream-2, Orientation Course, held at Government College Kaduna temporary NYSC orientation camp.
According to her, the youths must refuse to serve as tools for war mongers and always focus on what is good for the country and how to build a united and stronger Nigeria. She noted that the major objective of the NYSC was to enhance Nigeria’s unity and development.
The Acting Governor, while commenting on the orientation programme, said it was to prepare the corps members and equip them to perform well in their places of primary assignments.
She however lauded commended the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC for providing lifelong skills including entrepreneurial education to the corps members. Hadiza also encouraged them to continue to seek educational opportunities so that they can be better placed to grapple with the upheavals tossed up by modernism.
Earlier, the state NYSC Coordinator Edward Oche advised the corps members to always be security conscious and good ambassadors of the scheme.
