The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai has called on the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, deployed at Madagali, in Adamawa State, not to give terrorists any breathing space.

Buratai, who addressed the troops during a visit, urged them to maintain the current speed of offensive against the insurgents.

The Army Chief added that the  Federal Government would provide the needed support to enable them prosecute the war against insurgency and other criminal activities in the country.

He commended the troops for their gallantry in dealing with the Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP terrorists in the region.

Buratai said the welfare package of the troops would also be improved in 2020, in line with the promise of President Muhammadu Buhari. 

According to him, army authorities will continue to provide befitting accommodation for the troops’ families in the barracks.
