Banditry: Katsina Police Repel Attack, Rescue 11 Victims, Recover 38 Cows – Spokesman

The Katsina state Police command has prevented bandits’ attack on Gidan-Duka village, in Kankara Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s Spokesperson SP Gambo Isah, who announced this in a statement in Katsina, said 38 cows and 11 sheep were also recovered in the process.

He added that based on credible intelligence, the Command also rescued 11 kidnapped victims from Sabon Garin-Safana, explaining that the victims were rescued from a bandits’ hideout, on the outskirts of Tsaskiya village, in Safana local government area. According to Isah, the victims were taken to Dutsinma General Hospital for medical examination and have already been reunited with their respective families.

In another development, Katsina State Government has set up a committee to get data its indigenes that fled to neighbouring states or countries as a result of security challenges.

Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Masari on Security Matters, Ibrahim Katsina told newsmen that the exercise is aimed at exploring the possibility of rehabilitating the victims. According to him, the committee is under the supervision of the state’s Deputy Governor, Mannir Yakubu.
