The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Bauchi State Command has confirmed that twenty-eight people were burnt to death in an auto crash at Gubi Gari village, along Bauchi-Kano highway.

A relation of the victims, Abdullahi Yamadi, who confirmed the incident, described it as horrible.

Yamadi, who is the Secretary Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ  North-West Zone, said the deceased were all his relatives. He explained that they were on their way to Yola, Adamawa State, for a visit when the incident occurred.

FRSC Corp Commander, Bauchi Sector Command, Abdulrazak Najume said the accident happened when two vehicles, a Peugeot J-5 bus, and a Hummer bus from Dutsinma in Katsina State had a collision.

He added that twenty-nine people were involved in the crash out of which only one survived, saying “of the twenty-eight people, twenty-four were in the Hummer bus and four in the J-5, all burnt beyond recognition
