Director General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, PGF Salihu Mohammed Lukman has again slammed the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC of the ruling All Prgressives Congress, APC for making excuses as the reason why it cannot conduct its national convention as planned until certain conditions are met.
Lukman, while citing media reports which alleged that the convention could be shifted to June, in a statement, picked holes in the committee’s announcement that it would conduct the convention after addressing some critical issues.
He also faulted claims that the committee was waiting for the party’s governors to decide on convention date, while decrying that failure to conduct the convention was hurting the party’s preparation for the 2023 general polls.
The Director General also noted that shortly after the news of the alleged postponement, the Secretary of the caretaker committee John James Akpanudoedehe issued a statement of denial, calling on the public to disregard fake news on the reported suspension of the planned National Convention’.
