The Lagos Zonal Command of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested one Bolarinwa Oluwasegun for impersonating an Army General and committing a 270 million naira scam.
EFCC also said the suspect posed as a General in the Nigerian Army and made false representations to the complainant, Kodef Clearing Resources, that President Muhammadu Buhari had shortlisted him and one other to be appointed as the Chief of Army Staff.
The Anti-graft agency added that Oluwasegun told Kodef Clearing Resources that he needed a short grant to press and process the appointment and he also forged a letter of appointment as Army Chief purportedly signed by the President and showed the same to the complainant to further “prove” his claim.
It also stated that upon his arrest, six pump action guns, three cartridge bullets, a swagger stick and several forged documents were recovered from Oluwasegun.
The statement said Oluwasegun will be charged to Court as soon as investigations have been concluded.
