Nigeria and Egypt have advanced to the final of the table tennis team event at the 12th African Games holding in Morocco.

They will both clash for gold medal in the African Games finals and the ticket to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games today, Friday.

Aruna Quadri, Segun Toriola and Jide Omotayo will represent the male team while Funke Oshonaike, Cecilia Akpan and Edem Ofiong are members of the women’s team.

The two teams had a perfect passage to the final without dropping a match with Nigeria men’s team thrashing hosts Morocco and Congo Brazzaville to seal their place in the final, while Egypt humbled Ghana and Tunisia in their bid to reach the final.

Egypt as the top seed in the women event will take down Ethiopia and Algeria, while Olufunke Oshonaike led Nigeria in their undefeated run to the final with a convincing 3-0 bashing of Morocco and Tunisia, to set up another consecutive final against the Egyptians.
