The Zenith Labour Party has clinched 15 chairmanship seats in Saturday’s Local Government Elections in Abia State, while the Young Progressives Party won two seats, leaving the ruling Labour Party (LP) without a seat.
The Chairman of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, Prof George Chima, announced the result of the chairmanship poll at the commission’s headquarters in Umuahia.
The ABSIEC boss, while describing the polls as free, fair, and credible, said they successfully took place across 17 LGAs.
