78 Nigerians have been killed and 12 kidnapped in violent attacks across the country, just a week after President Bola Tinubu took the oath of office.
The incidents occurred in Rivers, Zamfara, Kaduna, Ogun, Sokoto state, and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The data was obtained from the Nigeria Security Tracker, a project of the Council on Foreign Relations.
It also noted that gunmen killed four and beheaded two persons in Rivers State on May 29.
Also, terrorists killed a vigilante leader and 24 others in Zamfara state, and that two APC women leaders were kidnapped on May 30 after attending the Kaduna Governor’s inauguration.
The report also stated that on the same day, gunmen killed a man and kidnapped his wife, and four kids in Kaduna, adding that cultists killed six persons in Rivers communities. Meanwhile, a security expert, Timothy Avele, said the recent killings and kidnappings were a call for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act fast to address the menace
