
Sports Minister, Sunday Dare says the Super Eagles is expected to set up training camp in Abuja ahead of next month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Abuja.
It would be recalled hat Super Eagles were earlier scheduled to open camp in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state on December 28 and that the Abuja camp is now expected to open same Tuesday next week.
The Eagles will open their AFCON campaign on January 11 against Egypt.
The Minister’s announcement came just after the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja was handed back to the sports ministry by the contractors after major renovation. The stadium is expected to soon host matches involving the country’s various teams.
IN same vein, Napoli of Italy striker Victor Osimhen has assured citizens of his readiness for the fast approaching 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON if picked by Super Eagles’ coach.
Osimhen took to his verified twitter handle on Tuesday to announce his readiness to be part of the continental football showpiece starting in Cameroon on the 9th of January, 2022.
