Kelechi Iheanacho has won back his place in the Nigeria squad despite recent criticism from Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr.
Iheanacho was dropped by Nigeria in March after Rohr questioned the striker’s professionalism and the quality of his recent displays.
Despite his recent high-profile miss against Manchester City, it seems Iheanacho has won Rohr over, the 22-year-old selected in Nigeria’s 25-man provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, which starts on June 21.
City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is also in the squad, which will be cut down to 23, along with former Leicester forward Ahmed Musa.
Also potentially heading to Egypt for the finals is City Under-23s striker Admiral Muskwe, who has been included in Zimbabwe’s 34-man provisional line-up.
