The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police CP Ayuba N. Elkana has visited Gusau Central Correctional facility to assess the existing security arrangements with a view to averting any security threats at the Centre.
In a press release issued to newsmen today, the command’s spokesperson, SP Mohammed Shehu said the Commissioner visited the facility to ensure its safety and security in view of the prevailing insecurity challenges in the country.
Shehu said, “The Commissioner of Police while going round the facility assured the Comptroller of the Correctional Service that the Police are fully committed to the security and safety of all correctional centres in the state.
The Comptroller of the facility thanked the Commissioner for his proactiveness and enthusiasm to protect correctional facilities against any form of attack by unscrupulous elements.
He assured the commissioner that his office would be keeping in touch with the Police Command in a bid to ensure the security of all the correctional centres in the state.
