Bandits in Zamfara State have hit again this time abducting the father of
the Speaker Zamfara state House of Assembly, Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya
and seven others.
The kidnappers also nabbed the speakers’ stepmother, uncle and four
others when they attacked Magarya village in the Zurmi Local
Government Area of the State.
A member of the Zamfara Assembly, Salihu Zurmi representing Zurmi
West said that it is the fourth time bandits are attacking the community.
He said during the first attack, one person was killed while during the
second assault they torched residential houses and carted away cows and
other domestic animals.
According to Shehu Mohammed, spokesperson to the Zamfara State
Police Command who confirmed the abduction, the attack happened on
Wednesday evening.
He noted that troops have been deployed to rescue the abducted victims.
