A group of Security Professionals, ASIS International has called on the Federal Government to arrest and prosecute any traditional ruler involved in the killings in Zamfara state and other parts of the country.
The Acting Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu recently alleged that some traditional rulers were involved in mining activities that was contributing to the killings in Zamfara.
The Chairman of Abuja Chapter of ASIS Kabir Adamu made the call while addressing newsmen on the security challenges in the North West and North Central on Sunday in Abuja.
He said these armed bandits have engaged in wanton kidnap for ransom incidences at rates that portend grave danger for the country.
Adamu said that the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency had stated that two hundred and seven persons were kidnapped between December 2018 and March 2019. He said that the bandits had taken the full advantage of the country`s vulnerability to strike at will without been apprehended.
