FRSC Trains Community Responders To Curb Traffic Crashes In FCT

Federal Road Safety Corps has admonished motorists in Lagos to desist from exceeding speed limits during the festive period and beyond.

The Lagos Sector Commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide, made the appeal in a statement signed by the Public Education Officer, Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, in Lagos.

Ogungbemide said that motorists driving through all major corridors within and outside the state should obey speed limits for all categories of roads.

He implored commuters to be more sensitive to the conduct of their drivers for necessary caution.

The sector commander however, said that the Command had started its end of year special patrol “Operation Zero” towards a crash-free festive period by deploying about 3,200 personnel comprising both Regular and Special Marshals.

Ogungbemide said that the zone had deployed 57 patrol vehicles, motor bikes and six ambulances for effective traffic management and operations, stressing the need for all motorists to avoid overloading, drunk driving, use of unsafe tyres, and use of phone while driving, urging commercial drivers to ensure that the speed limit device was installed in their vehicles.
