A None-Governmental Organisation, NGO, Eye Opener for Youth and Women Foundation has solicited for partnership with the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ to push for the establishment of more rehabilitation centres in Kaduna State.
The foundation’s President, Margaret Julius, who paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of NUJ in Kaduna, said it is important to rehabilitate disadvantaged youth and give them a chance to become responsible citizens. She added that their passion is to restore the glory of Kaduna state via partnering with journalists.
Responding, the NUJ Chairman, Adamu Yusuf said that the union would work with the organisation in achieving the target of moulding the youth to become better citizens.
He assured that members of the union operate within the rules guiding the profession and has registered all its members including online reporters, to prevent quacks from soiling the reputation of the union.
Yusuf urged them to encourage inter marriages as that will be the first step towards peaceful coexistence in the society.
