The Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency has confirmed six new deaths after the seventeen earlier recorded, bringing the total to 22 so far.

The agency’s Executive Secretary, Rilwan Muhammed said that no fewer than 143 suspected cases of the ailment were recorded out of which 24 cases were confirmed and 22 dead.

He said ten out of the 22 victims were guardians working with the Yankari Games Reserve, adding that all the cases were from Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

He noted that only 79 percent treatment was recorded in the ongoing immunization campaign against the course that carries the virus.
