In a bid to bolster security efforts in the nation’s capital, the FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, recently handed over 100 motorcycles to various security outfits and the Six Area Councils.

The presentation took place in Abuja on Monday, April 15, 2024, during a brief ceremony attended by the Area Council Chairmen and Heads of the Security Agencies.

The Minister said, “I don’t want to hear stories tomorrow that these motorcycles are nowhere to be found again. I don’t want to hear such stories because sometimes when you give out vehicles before you know it, the vehicles are no longer there. Please utilize these motorcycles to fight crime in the areas you have identified.

Barrister Wike expressed confidence that these motorcycles would significantly enhance security in the rural areas of the FCT. These regions, characterized by remote and challenging terrains, are particularly vulnerable to criminal activities. He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the motorcycles exclusively for combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents. The security agencies were also reminded of their responsibility to protect these vital assets.
