Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says Nigeria needs more than military approach to combat the insurgency in the northeast.
Osinbajo said the military must work with other stakeholders to achieve total victory in the war against insurgency.
He spoke in Abuja at a conference with the theme ‘insurgency and counter insurgency in Nigeria: Perspectives on Boko Haram’ organised by Victim Support Fund in collaboration with Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA Kaduna.
Represented by the National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno, Osinbajo asked the troops deployed to the northeast to understand and be sensitive to the needs of the residents in the zone.
Osinbajo noted that the current violent extremism in the Sahel region is threatening the relative peace in Nigeria and Africa.
