Super Eagles hopeful, Tammy Abraham had the last laugh as Chelsea defeated Victor Osimhen and LOSC Lille 1-2 in the UEFA Champions League, UCL, on Wednesday.

The UCL matchday two saw the two Nigerians go head-to-head in France, but at the end, despite both players finding the back of the net, it was Abraham who went home the happier of the two after Chelsea took all three points.

On the occasion of his 22nd birthday, it took just 22 minutes for Abraham to grab his first-ever UCL goal following his opener to put Chelsea 0-1 up in the night, with the other Nigerian on the pitch, Fikayo Tomori, providing the cross for Abraham.

But his goal only lasted 11 minutes, not to be outshone on the night, Osimhen equalised for the home side as he outjumped everyone to head home the leveller on 33 minutes.

The scoreline remained so until 12 minutes from time when Willian restored Chelsea’s lead and ultimately scored what turned out to be the winner as they picked up their first win in the UCL under new manager, Frank Lampard.

Salah denies Red Star famous Anfield win

Mohamed Salah was the hero at Anfield as Liverpool survive an incredible comeback from their visitors, Red Star Belgrade to win 4-3.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson and Salah handed Liverpool what looked like a very convincing and comfortable lead after just 36 minutes of play.

However, the away side were in Anfield to be rolled over as they embarked on an incredible comeback led by Hee-Chan Hwang, who pulled one back before the break.

After the restart, in the space of four second half minutes, Red Star were level thanks to goals from Takumi Minamino and the talented Erling Braut Haaland.

Liverpool’s blushes would be saved 20 minutes from time when Salah restored their lead with his second of the game and Liverpool’s fourth.

Ajax thrash Valencia in Spain
Last season semi-finalists Ajax Amsterdam were too hot to handle for LaLiga side, Valencia, following a 0-3 demolition.

Moroccan, Hakim Ziyech was amongst the goals, as he opened the floodgates on the eighth minute before Quincy Promes and Donny van de Beek added two more goals to seal the win.

Also, another Moroccan was the hero for Borussia Dortmund as they defeated Peter Olayinka’s Slavia Prague 0-2.

Fullback, Achraf Hakimi scored a brace for the Yellow and Black as they sealed all three points.
