The Trade Union Congress, TUC has commended Federal Government’s decision to remove petrol subsidy, but lamented that the persistent call for sacrifices on the part of citizens was no longer acceptable.

TUC President, Festus Osifo, while briefing journalists on the state of the nation, noted that the Government never responds the sacrifices made by Nigerians.

He also called on President Tinubu Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to cut the cost of governance, stressing that the proposed purchase of new vehicles by the 10th National Assembly was unpleasant given the current situation in the country.

Osifo said placing the burden of petrol subsidy removal completely on the masses while those in power continue to bask in wealth is unjust.

The TUC President however urged the President reduce the number of his aides and making sure that each new minister only has a maximum of two assistants.
