Senators belonging to the All Progressive Congress, APC and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP caucus are expected to hold emergency meetings today immediately after plenary.
The notice of meeting was communicated in two separate letters signed by the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi and the Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe and was read by the Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege who presided over plenary on Tuesday.
Abaribe, in the letter announced that the PDP caucus meeting which is planned to hold at 2pm is between PDP Senators and members of the PDP Board of Trustees. However the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed.
In another development, The crises the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in Gombe State took a another length with the resignation of a former Commissioner for Health Ahmed Gana; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Investment, Dijjatu Bappa and a party chieftain Jamil Isyaka Gwamna.
The resignation of Bappa and Gwamna is coming on the heel of the defection of Ahmed Gana to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP two days ago. Jamil Gwamna also resigned from the party.
In his letter of resignation addressed to Jekadafari ward APC Chairman, Gwamna said his decision to resign from the APC was after wide consultations with his family, political associates and supporters.
